MINNEAPOLIS - The Marquette Hotel, is pleased to announce, its new signature restaurant will open to the public on June 5, 2017, marking the first phase of the highly anticipated completion of the hotel's $25 million renovation. Jacques' will hold a street-level entrance on Marquette Avenue South, in the former Marq VII Lounge, and pay tribute to the history and culture of Minneapolis with an Italian-Mediterranean seasonal menu, creative cocktail program in an elegant, yet comfortable atmosphere.

"The opening of Jacques' signals one of the biggest changes to the property," said John Wright, director of sales and marketing for Marquette Hotel. "We have completely renovated the space to reflect the next chapter for the Marquette as a distinctive and historic destination for locals and visitors alike."

The fully renovated space boasts a new sophisticated look from Mark Zeff Design that marries the history and heritage of the city in which it stands. The space features a thoughtfully selected collection of inviting furnishings, modern designs and textures that evoke the feeling of a well-curated art gallery. The 2,000-square-foot space will seat 76 in the restaurant and 16 barside, and offers guests an inviting space with ambient lighting and cozy seating, perfect for business luncheons or after-work comradery.

Jacques' will be led by Executive Chef, Chris Blackwell, a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Denver and previously Executive Chef at Randolph's Restaurant & Bar in Denver's Warwick Hotel where he oversaw the addition of four rooftop bee hives and created a roof top organic garden that grew produce for the restaurant.

Paying homage to, missionary and explorer, Jacques Marquette, and the namesake of the hotel, the restaurant will feature fresh, seasonal ingredients with an emphasis on Italian-Mediterranean cuisine. The menu will feature delectable, seasonal pasta preparations, pizzette along with a variety of modern classics that include house made meatballs prepared with fresh ricotta cheese, pork, veal, and beef and Veal Osso Buco served with organic, heirloom white polenta from Anson Mills. Additionally, the restaurant will offer locally produced desserts that will include Muddy Paws Cheesecake, Sebastian Joe's ice cream and sorbet.

The signature cocktail program at Jacques' will pay tribute to the history and culture of Minneapolis.  From the sweet sensation of rhubarb in the Beebopareebop cocktail to the earthy, beet flavor of the Iron Range cocktail, guests will enjoy the flavors of the Northland. In addition, Jacques' will feature classic French cocktails as a nod to its namesake, Pierre Marquette, and classic Italian cocktails to complement its Mediterranean inspired cuisine.

Jacques' will launch a rewards program in mid-June where guests will have the option to become a member and receive special offers at the restaurant. More details to be announced soon.
