PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico and MCLEAN, Va. - Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the signing of a new build hotel, The Fives Downtown, Curio Collection by HiltonTM, the company's first in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. As Hilton's rapidly-expanding global collection of distinctive upper upscale hotels, Curio caters to passionate travelers seeking local discovery and authentic experiences. Developed by TM Real Estate Group, The Fives Downtown, Curio Collection by Hilton, is slated to open in fourth quarter of 2017.

The property's architecture will reflect the nature and the ocean environments through its shapes, patterns and textures. In the main atrium with skylight, a grand wall with live plants and embedded elements will emulate the roots of the trees, bringing natural beauty to the hotel's interior. The rooftop's bold construction inspired by the Playa del Carmen lifestyle and natural elements such as bird feathers' shapes and handcrafted work create a contemporary structure to define the space.

The five-story property will feature 93 guest rooms, a full-service spa with hydrotherapy treatment, a 1,300-square-foot fitness center, and rooftop infinity pool with deck and disc jockey booth. The rooftop will also showcase a pool bar and lounge, a restaurant and a signature cocktail bar.

In the Quinta Avenida bustling neighborhood, The Fives Downtown Hotel Playa del Carmen, is a short distance to numerous shops, restaurants and dance clubs. The property is also close to Parque Fundadores, one of the original areas in Playa del Carmen, and Nuestra Señora del Carmen Church.
